The timeless barbecue favorite is undoubtedly the very classic beef burger! It’s incredibly simple recipe for burgers produces delectable patties, infused with onions and some herbs. This burger is just perfect for topping with veggies that we used to see in burgers like tomato and lettuce. Plus it would be good to add some cheese.
- Serves: 4 pcs.
- Timing: 15 minutes to prepare and 15 minutes to cook
- Calories: 500 cals per serving.
Ingredients
- ½ tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion
- 500g pack Beef Steak Mince, 15% fat
- 1 tsp mixed herbs
- 1 egg
- 4 white rolls
- few round lettuce leaves
- 1 tomato
- ketchup, to serve (optional)
- 4 slices of cheese (optional)
Perfect with: Beef is typically accompanied by a red wine.
Burgers pair best with full-bodied red wines with plenty of tannin, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Shiraz. The fattier the cut of beef (such as Prime Rib), the more tannin you want in the wine. Here is our recommendation: 2013 L’EXPRESSION DE PAUILLAC
Method
- Heat up olive oil in a frying pan. Then add some onions. Fry it for approximately 5 minutes. It should become softer and change the color to golden brown. Then set the pan aside.
- Take the mixing bowl, mix the beef mince, egg and add some herbs depending on what you like. Add some spices that you prefer, plus already cooked onions and mix it. Then split the mixture into 4 patties.
- Heat up the BBQ and then put patties on a grill. Grill it 5-7 minutes (depending on the temperature) at each side. We would recommend to add some slices of cheese. You can add it when you flip the patties.
- While the patties are grilling, toast the buns on the grill, but not much. When they’re done, add the lettuce, put slices of tomato and of course beef patties. Serve it with ketchup, or any other condiments according to your taste.
Enjoy!
